Die Internationalisierung stellt Universitäten auch vor sprachliche Herausforderungen: Sollen sie ihre Lehrveranstaltungen auf Englisch umstellen – oder müssen alle ausländischen Studierenden Deutsch lernen? Eine alternative Lösung hat das Institut für Anthropomatik des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie (KIT) entwickelt: den – an einer Universität – weltweit ersten automatischen simultanen Übersetzungsdienst per Computer. Professor Alex Waibel und sein Team stellten das System nun am KIT vor.
