Why are falls so preventable, yet responsible for so many deaths each year?
In this episode we welcome Dr. Amanda Bentley, whose passion for working with elders has made her a strong voice in the community about falls risk and prevention.
Amber Bentley is the Director of Therapy for The Getachew Knee Clinic in Columbus, Ohio, an OP center offering a holistic approach to treating knee pain and arthritis. This allows people to avoid or delay the need for surgery. Amber received her Bachelors of Science in Biology with honors at Ashland University, while also earning four All-American awards competing as an NCAA Division II runner. She earned her Masters of Education and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University. While at CSU, she published several articles for scientific journal. A licensed PT for 8 years, she’s worked in home health, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings. She’s most passionate about geriatrics and is committed to integrating her PT, educational and athletic background to both facilitate functional independence for her patients and to educate the community about the benefits of living healthy and active lifestyles.
