Live the show but too short!!
08/03/2019
I really love the show but wished it would go deeper on each topic. The debaters have very interesting thoughts but everything is cut short without having time to go deep into each subject. I could listen to them debating for 2 hours on only one subject, but understanding that is a lot to ask, I would settle on each episode only focusing on 1 subject for 45 minutes. The recommendations are fun but really non essential and I could do without. Keep up the good work. This is always a podcast I look forward to!
Less Strident ? New presenters ?
11/12/2020
Audio is an interesting exercise. Your voices come into our homes, our intimate space. You may have something that I’d like to hear and take on board. Unfortunately, if your voice is strident and remains at such high levels for the entire discussion. ..I’ll turn off and pass on future episodes. When I was a kid, we had the Susan Stanberg’s, the Cokie Roberts of Public Radio delivering and discussing the news of the day. They had vocal personality, weren’t afraid to put themselves out there, express their opinions and deliver really interesting information. This is the New York Times. We, your listeners and subscribers hold you Times Opinion writers and presenters to a higher level than that which other news organizations accept and even perhaps encourage. Hopefully you all have wonderful audio producers who know how to deal with this kind of thing. Best,
Two disappointing episodes
08/12/2020
I was surprised and disappointed by the need of the female interviewer - my apologies I don’t have her name - to interrupt her guests or colleague or to express what struck me as unfounded personal biais. This is not what I generally find with the NYT....
