Disorder

Gone are the days of coherent international coordination. Rather than working together to solve pressing crises, many of the world’s most powerful states are actively making those crises worse. The result? We’re living through a novel historical era: The Global Enduring Disorder. The Disorder podcast teases out the key principles that connect seemingly disparate challenges: from Climate Change to Tax Havens, to Unregulated Cyberspace, to the Wars in Ukraine, Syria, and Libya. Jason Pack, NATO Foundation Senior Analyst, and Alexandra Hall Hall, a former British Ambassador, discuss with world-leading experts, senior diplomats and cultural icons, the fundamental principles lurking behind today’s global issues. At the conclusion of each episode, they will be proposing inventive, win-win solutions to the globe’s most pressing challenges aka, ‘Ordering the Disorder’. Sincere and erudite podcast

Really enjoy the high level of knowledge and experience on display and credit must also be awarded to the hosts who earnestly try to see all sides, despite that being a difficult ask in current disordered times
Excellent overview of global affairs

I listen every week. I enjoy the deep dive into global affairs and the status of the democracies, dictatorships and everything in between. Two great hosts who attract very interesting guests. Also, great to have my question about the UK’s relationship with the EU answered in episode 103. I hope Keir Starmer hears the words of wisdom from Alex and Jason!
Great pod but still falls into Africa “traps”.

This is a great pod and I was pleased that the last episode began addressing one of its failures, specifically that it had fallen into the western trap of failing to pay enough attention to African. This is welcome, but the latest episode still fell into another all too common “trap”, namely speaking about Africa as though it is a singular entity. Hopefully this episode is just the first of many, with regional and national deep dives to follow. If we are to effectively engage with the countries and peoples in Africa, we have to address them on their own terms and break with the notion that what applies in Mali equally applies in Malawi simply because both countries are in Africa.
Excellent
