Riffat and Andrew are a duo of digital experts from Bupa’s People Technology and Digital team who have worked together for a number of years across a range of digital transformation programmes, sharing an uncompromising passion for digitisation of employee experience.

In this episode, Riffat and Andrew will discuss what delivering a ‘consumer-grade employee experience’ means to them, along with some insight to what it takes to achieve it. Riffat has spent the past few years setting up a function dedicated to optimising digital employee experience, comprising of; continuous improvement, programmes and projects, security and support, digital learning, people analytics and an award-winning digital experience team, which Andrew has been leading within the function.

Focus for both Riffat and Andrew has recently shifted toward the development of Bupa’s ‘future of work technologies’ with a specific focus placed on the potential applications of Automation and Generative AI, with a view to taking Bupa’s employee experience to the next level.

She will highlight the impact of her work within Mortgage Advice Bureau and the initiatives she has started within her role as Chief People Officer within Movera. Whilst Claire doesn’t have a traditional HR background she has spent 15 years working within the legal sector and held senior roles within Pannone, QualitySolicitors and Moneypenny.

During her time at Pannone and Moneypenny, Claire saw the impact of award-winning cultures as both organisations were ranked Top 3, Best Companies to work for. Throughout her time at Moneypenny, Claire was a brand ambassador for them, sharing with other businesses how you create a brilliant workplace culture. In 2020, Claire moved into Financial Services working with Mortgage Advice Bureau and had the opportunity to lead the business through a journey to redefine their mission, vision and values as their People & Culture Director. In 2022 MAB won the coveted recognition as overall winner of the Business Culture Awards.

Special Guest: Yosi Amram: Author of Spiritually Intelligent Leadership: How to Inspire to be Inspired

Yosi Amram, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist, and an executive coach catering to CEOs, entrepreneurs, and other influential leaders. Previously a founder and CEO of two companies that he has led through successful IPOs, he has coached over 100 CEOs – many of whom have built companies with thousands of employees and revenues in the billions. He is a pioneering researcher in the field of spiritual intelligence, whose research has received over 1000 citations.

Yosi is the author of Spiritually Intelligent Leadership: How to Inspire by Being Inspired. Holding an MBA from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Sofia University, Dr. Amram is committed to enabling individuals to unlock their potential through spiritual intelligence, which grows out of a profound connection to the core of one’s existence – their spirit, where inspiration and their deepest interconnectedness reside – that enriches their overall functioning, improves their effectiveness as leaders, and enhances their wellbeing as humans.

Yosi is passionate and motivated to discuss what is spiritual intelligence, how it is different and complements emotional intelligence, and how it contributes to leadership, the cultivation of community culture, and the productivity impact in the workplace, as well as to individual happiness, wellbeing, and deeper meaning and fulfillment in life in general.

This is the second Engage for Success national survey, established to examine the current state of employee engagement in the UK. We will be discussing the EFS Employee Engagement Index and the 2023 UK engagement benchmark.

Listen as we reflect on variations in engagement levels according to organisational size, sector, and the level of action (or inaction) in organisational practice.

We will be discussing the relationship between engagement and wellbeing, hybrid working, and the positive impact of employee engagement champions.

Dr Sarah Pass is a senior lecturer undertaking research related to employee experience and engagement and teaching at a postgraduate and executive level. Sarah is a member of the Engage for Success Advisory Board, sits on the steering group, chairs the East Midlands Area Network, the Line Managers TAG, the Engagement Champion TAG, and co-project lead for the EFS annual survey.

In 2023, Sarah was ranked by HR Magazine as an Influential Thinker in HR. She is a Fellow of the RSA, an Academic Associate of the CIPD, and a member of the British Academy of Management.

James Court-Smith leads Stillae Ltd – helping companies make sense of the data they collect, and put it to profitable use, across multiple industries in Europe.

He chairs the Engage for Success Steering Group and is a member of the Advisory Board. James is the co-project lead for the EFS annual survey and is a Visting Fellow at Nottingham Business School.

Jo is Giki’s co-founder and has worked in sustainability since 2006, is responsible for Giki’s engagement programme, clients and partners. She specialises in behaviour change, climate communications, employee engagement and personal carbon footprints. Jo is a former BBC Panorama journalist and executive committee member at CDP.

The Race to Zero is global campaign rallying nations, industries, and individuals to unite in the fight against climate change. But there is an often-over-looked group who can also play a significant role – employees.

In the build-up to COP28, Giki ran a global Employee Race to Zero competition, a month of fun challenges to help engage employees from twenty organisations representing 500,000 employees and accelerate their Race to Zero commitments.

In this podcast Giki co-founder Jo Hand, we will discuss why employee engagement is fast becoming a crucial part of net zero delivery and the best techniques to achieve it across different sectors, divisions, and regions.
