Episode 2 - Reality Bites (1994)

We’re kicking off our journey into Ethan’s oeuvre with the film that made Hawke the cinematic face of Generation X, and for the next few years, a pin-up leading man. It’s a testament to Hawke’s then-emerging star power, pop cultured charisma, and slacker hotness, that the character of Troy Dyer, an uncompromisingly self-absorbed, “24-hour-a-day taste fascist” remains one of his most enduring and fondly remembered.
