Great podcast

I have been listening to Tess’s podcast for quite a while and I always enjoy it as it’s packed with excellent advice. In my opinion is the best podcast for translators.

Great tips for all localization professionals, not just translators

Tess is a wonderful public speaker, so this automatically makes her the perfect podcast host. Although I am not a translator, I work in the localization industry and learn a lot from this podcast. It has helped me to better market myself, and learn what’s important to other language service professionals around the world. Great topics, great pace, and well worth a listen.

Marketing tips for translators

It is lovely to discover that Tess Whitty has taken up her podcasts, marketing tips for translators, with a series of new episodes. This follows a summer of delightful repeats of previous sessions, and I myself have particularly benefitted from sessions on what agencies want from translators, how to use your website and (much earlier) on your unique selling point.

Tess picks up the thread in episode 255 in an interview was the Italian translator Martina Russo on how to use LinkedIn. Both Tess and Martina clearly use LinkedIn extensively and draw on long experience. As with so much teaching in any subject, many of the remarks appear obvious on the surface, but do we all of us actually act on them? I know I fail often and need the encouragement of knowing that even successful professionals (e.g.) LinkedIn on a daily basis. Already in the past I have thought, “if Tess Whitty (or any other professional) has to do this, then I should most certainly be doing the same!“
Thank you so much Tess for your time and dedication. Your accomplishments are amazing!
