Neil Counihan talks to Rosie Millard

In this week's episode Extreme Leader Neil Counihan talks to his old school friend, journalist and Chair of BBC Children in Need, Rosie Millard.

In the summer of 2018 Neil came out of a tube station, picked up a newspaper and read that Rosie was recovering from a huge brain tumour - so got back in touch.

It's fair to say that in the last few years Rosie has been through some pretty tough times and
in this podcast talks about her treatment and utter relief when the tumour was successfully removed.

On a lighter note she also tells Neil about her love of marathon running and her passion for both the City and people of Hull.

This is a great episode about leadership and overcoming obstacles.

The Extreme Leaders talk to Jason Fox and Sean Taylor

Welcome back - In this episode Wayne Hoyle and Alan Chambers bring you an Extreme Leaders special.

This week the team also welcome Sean Taylor to the pod.

As a Royal Marine commando, Sean Taylor has leapt from planes, trekked through jungles and fought in Afghanistan. After 22 years in the military Sergeant Taylor retired in 2005.

He came up with an idea to entice adrenaline junkies like himself: Zip World, an adventure playground for grown-ups in North Wales with zip wires to take them downhill at speeds of up to 120 mph.

“It is the closest you can get to skydiving without jumping from a plane.”

Interview with Trystan Williams

I met Trystan over 15 years ago in a professional capacity ......
My career had its challenging times but seeing more of the environment Trystan and his staff worked in opened my eyes to the difficulties faced not only by them ..but also by the children they are involved with . ...and the massive issues some of them come with . It’s not that long ago , when kids who weren’t academically gifted were left by the wayside.:.....but I’ve long held the view that every child has a talent ....it’s just needs identifying , capturing and nurturing......and through the innovative and inspiring leadership of Trystan and his motivational staff , he’s been able to make a huge difference to a lot of children’s lives ......

Great listen

Brilliant inspiring Podcast from a truly inspiring man. The podcast gives a raw and real story of how our local Dr saved a mans life who had COVID-19. Dr Hugh is a man who cares above an beyond for his patients and gives a very modern account of how he helps his patients.
Thanks for sharing this story and the very best of luck with your new venture.

An inspiring listen

Great podcast with some inspiring guests. I’ve just listen to the episode with Dr Hugh Coyne. As a patient of Coyne Medical, I can say with confidence that Hugh and Lucy’s professionalisms and patient care is second to none. He’s even offered me a session in ‘his’ cryo chamber.
