Murder 101

£3.99/mo or £40.99/yr after trial
In a small Tennessee town, a local serial killer was caught by the most unlikely investigators: A group of high school students, led by their teacher, Alex Campbell. Throughout the course of one school semester, the class pieced together a 30-year-old mystery and identified the killer behind at least six brutal murders. Shockingly, while the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations publicly agrees with their theory, no charges have been filed against the murderer. While some sleuthing students already have graduated, they, along with a fresh crop of current high schoolers, still want to finish the assignment, once and for all.

Very interesting.

Great story. Far too many ads, or more accurately the same ads far too many times.
Commercialisation needs a rethink.

5 stars for the teenagers and teachers that care enough about others to put this work in where the police weren’t. 0 stars for the ads. I get that this is a business and that you’re making something that you deserve to be paid for, but please re-think the way you’re doing it for the next series. It feels really exploitative and icky to be so aggressively commercial during a victim’s telling of their own story. Again, I get that this is a business venture and that hard work deserves pay, but at least save the ad breaks for either side of a victim’s harrowing tale, rather than interrupting it for long chunks of ads that make the listener lose the thread of what she’s saying - that’s a real disservice to how openly she gave you her words. Ideally also please change up the ads for some variety. It’s making me hate the podcasts that you’re advertising because I resent them so much for so frequently interrupting the victim. Fewer useful opportunities for the advert to be heard will perform better in the long run than actively putting off potential listeners by shoving the same content in over and over.
Poor production

As with others, too many adverts. But also the production is so dodgy. There is so much substantive story here and so many threads left unfurled I guess to make room for more ads. The story has been put together very confusingly, and silly things like the end credit music starting loudly over the last minute of speaking (eg when the survivor is speaking) are really jarring. Only thing that kept me going was the ability to skip ads and the fact there’s a good story under the poor telling of it.
Ads ads and more ads

Same as all the other reviews, I had to stop listening, repeated same sound bites over and over as well! Real shame really because what could have been a good podcast turned into a poor experience for the end consumer!
