Stan R. Mitchell: The View from the Front

Timestamps:

Timestamp: 0:15. The news out of Gaza and Israel is ugly and depressing and emotionally taxing. I talk about why we need to remember some higher-level realities, and that we should keep our our health, emotions, and families at the top of our minds. We also shouldn’t lose our self-control or react without discipline, kindness, and hope in our social media comments.

Timestamp: 6:42. My plan for covering the war in Gaza and Israel and why I plan to avoid covering it.

Timestamp: 18:42. An update on drone attacks against U.S. forces in the Middle East, and where I see the current threat level.

Timestamp: 22:27. The most important fight in Ukraine in the coming days and weeks won’t be on their frontlines — it’ll be in the halls of Congress as the leaders of both chambers grapple and struggle with whether the United States will continue its military and financial support to Ukraine. I go into the weeds of this fight and do my best to offer some possible predictions.

Timestamp: 33:10. In news I’d rather not mention, Donald Trump disgraces himself with shameful comments in a public speech, saying he would not honor treaty obligations signed with NATO if Russia invaded that country. I don’t like to cover politics, but these comments directly impact our national security posture. As such, I do my best to show in an bi-partisan way why they are so irresponsible and how we out to deal with our treaty obligations if we’re wanting to change them.

Timestamp: 40:25. The Commandant of the Marine Corps had a heart attack this week, and it’s quite possible that working two jobs helped make that happen. Here’s more evidence of how Senator Tommy Tuberville is wrecking our current national security.

Timestamp: 45:03. Finally, motivation and wisdom, just for you.
