Good content and footy stats however to many betting adverts and adverts in general. Though I really like the host Ayo.

An interview with an interesting player that sounds suspiciously like a Saudi Arabia advert. Why would you lead on a “football” podcast interview with a harrowing robbery account and keep referencing how much he’s now loving Saudi life and how safe his family feel there. Either you’re a poor sports journalist or there’s been a sweet Emirates deal for the Athletic. Neither is great
A betting show

Is it just me or did the “Play Different” section of the podcast, that is introduced by the host as a look at how a team have changed tactic recently, actually used to be exactly this? Or has it always been, as it is now, an opportunity for some slimy individual from Betfair to pepper us with a two minute advert, cloaked as football discourse? Scummy behaviour by The Athletic. Mostly excellent content sullied by bending over for a gambling company, even though those in charge must be aware of the misery gambling causes.
Massive drop in quality

Was a huge fan over the past couple of years but noticed a significant drop in quality this season. Chappers in particular is missed and his replacement Ayo is annoying and a little childish. His silly comments and excited giggle after almost everything he says is particularly annoying. The weekend update isn’t what it used to be either. Update to say it seems to be getting even worse.
