Rachel Watches Star Trek

Chris loves Star Trek. Rachel had never watched it. Until 2017, when this podcast began. This is a podcast where Rachel and Chris talk about each episode of Star Trek, from the original TOS pilot onwards, getting her outsider’s perspective on one of the most influential Sci-fi shows of all time.
Amazing!

This is the best Star Trek podcast in the Milky Way galaxy. Don’t waste your time listening to other ones instead. Five stars!
Great podcast for fans of Trek (and their non-fan partners)

Rachel Watches Star Trek is one of my favourite podcasts - Rachel and Chris are funny, insightful and always a great listen. You’ll find interesting perspectives from a life-long fan contrasted with someone who’s never seen the show, and you’ll find yourself laughing along sympathising with either Chris as he attempts to explain things Trek fans take for granted or with Rachel as she tries to get her head around warp speed, how transporters work and why no-one ever seems to take basic health and safety precautions. A fantastic show to follow along episode by episode if you’re planning a Trek rewatch (or forst watch), and if you enjoy it there’s tons of bonus content and a great community on the RWST Patreon, plus a gr at listener community. Jump onboard the little stage and beam on up to join Rachel and Chris!
Fun, engaging, and insightful

Trek fans are incredibly well served by the variety of podcasts that are available. So it's no mean feat that Rachel Watches Star Trek stands out. Whether you're a fan of TOS or not, Rachel and Chris approach the series in such a funny and interesting way that it quickly became a Must Listen for me. They take the franchise serious enough so as not to be flippant, while also having fun with the sillier aspects. Also love Rachel's occasionally dropping insights from her work as a therapist which are always meaningful, and invariably leave me looking at something in a different way. One of my favourite podcasts, not just in the world of Trek, but full stop. Thanks, Rachel and Chris!
A fun, often funny, and very well-structured podcast

A really fun and oftern funny look at each episode of Star Trek with Rachel Lackey, who had never seen an episode before the beginning of this podcast, and her husband Chris who is a massive Star Trek fan. Each episode is a well-paced, step-by-step recap, and then the concepts are discussed afterwards in tight 30-ish minute episodes. There's enough time to breathe, and for Rachel and Chris to voice both their opinions, but it never rambles, nor does it ever feel lost. This is something that many podcasts do not do very well. I never feel like I need to have watched an episode recently, nor do I feel like it's filler if I have seen an episode recently. The audio quality is also very good. Even from the very beginning it does not sound recording over FaceTime, or sat in the kitchen with noise in the background. I am a subscriber on Patreon, and the additional bonus content is always fun and funny, and the monthly comments shows offer opportunity to discuss some of the community's opinions about subjects, some deep and some not so deep.
Love this podcast and spending time with Rachel and Chris!

Along with my husband, I've been a long-time listener of HP Podcraft and Rachel was one of my favourite guest stars. So naturally I was ecstatic when RWST came out, and even happier when I realised that it meant getting to spend time with Chris and Rachel as a (hilarious and delightful) couple. As one half of an Anglo-American couple with a pop culture-knowledge imbalance and abiding love of weird fiction, I know I'm something of a niche audience. That said, I can absolutely recommend this podcast to anyone who enjoys science fiction and wants to experience some truly excellent banter.
How long will their marriage last?

Having been a long time listener to Chris's output I have been familiar with some of the stresses in his life, moving country, becoming a father, knowing Chad Fifer. Watching all the original star trek episodes with his wife though? Would their marriage survive the stress? I'm glad to say....look's like it. Rachel and Chris are charming together and a non trek take on the subject matter is very refreshing, keep it coming guys i'll keep listening, to the rest of you....give it a try you won't be sorry.
Love it!

Ah this podcast made me laugh! I first listened to Chris on his excellent Lovecraft podcast and thought I would check this out. It's great! Really funny. Rachel has me smiling on my my morning commute. I'm not massively into original trek but this podcast is so entertaining. Thanks both and please keep it coming!
