    Hi and welcome to Sales Doesn’t Suck, a Positive Podcast.

    My name is Aaron Thomas Smith and like many of you out there, I never planned on being a Sales Professional. All of the negative emotions and associations with sales successfully latched on to my psyche at a young age, encouraging me to do just about anything but sell.

    But also like many of you, I found myself in the sales world and quickly had to reconcile these beliefs I had about what sales was with what I was quickly finding it to be.

    That is - of course - a crucial role that every company needs filled in order to succeed.

    Moreover, I found the people who I expected to be cartoonishly self absorbed and ‘Wolf of Wall Street’-like were (and still are) lovely people doing a job that day in and day out is not an easy one! It seemed to me that the more I delved into the world of sales, the less my assumptions proved correct.

    That said, starting out in sales you’re not just facing your outside rejection, you’re facing a daily battle for your positivity. Hearing ‘No’ again and again and getting hung up on (which will happen in any industry, trust me) is a hard thing for any human being to deal with.

    As someone who has been there on the front lines for almost a decade now, I’m here to provide you a weekly 5 to 10 minute boost of positivity to help you get your numbers and close those deals. We’ll fight through the stereotypes and negativity, and come out the other side better, together.
