Are You Underestimating The Power of Your Purpose?
I'll admit it. The day we recorded this episode of The Influencer Podcast, I was in a funky place.
Here's the deal: At the time of this recording, I had just made a mistake and missed something important to me for the second time! I was incredibly embarrassed.
I started going down the storyline of how I could have handled things differently. I was blaming myself. I was seeing everything through the lens of fear. I was being very hard on myself and creating a lot of unnecessary pain. I kept saying, "What's wrong with you? How could you let this happen? You should be ashamed of yourself!"
^^ This, my friend, is what I call the misery cycle.
It ain't fun. But you can escape this vicious cycle and feel freer than you ever have before. In this live talk, I'll tell you exactly how.
But that's not all...
I paused and reached for one of my favorite writing practices to use whenever I am hard on myself … and I chose again!
I chose to recognize that although this outcome wasn't what I'd hoped for, it was exactly what I needed. It was an opportunity for me to create awareness around my self-criticism and pity, surrender, and be grateful for the new actions and choices I can take.
If you tend to be self-critical, intolerant, or hard on yourself, you'll connect to this episode!
Why we are so hard ourselves and how to release the negative self-talk How to stop the "misery spin" and learn what you need to The writing practice called the 3 A's that I use to release guilt and shame How to see every experience as a learning opportunity to get closer to love How to give yourself permission to be imperfect and messy The Questions I leave you with are:
What story are you living by?
What story do you want to live by this year?
Are you underestimating the power of your purpose?
Going Deep With My Biggest Fear (And How I Released It)
I'll admit it. The day I recorded this episode of The Influencer Podcast, I was scared.
I knew I was going to share something I'd recently discovered about myself that wasn't so pretty.
Here's the deal: Today, I'm walking you through one of my deepest fears...being "found out."
In 2021 I wrote a book. During this time, I had massive discoveries. One was that I had a hard time internalizing my accomplishments. I also discovered I lived with a persistent fear of being exposed as a 'fraud.'
This is also known as imposter syndrome.
I share some examples of this in my life and the research I found that helped me see where my delusions around imposter syndrome were coming from.
But there's more to the story …
This created a domino effect of uncovering truths about my other fears, including perfectionism, comparison, and self-doubt.
I uncovered what this deep-rooted fear was all about: rejection.
I used five tools from this discovery that helped me release this fear and step into a more loving and kind place with myself.
In this episode, you'll hear:
The 6 common characteristic's that define imposter syndrome and how they build upon each other The 5 Steps to Releasing Your Fears How to use an "Evidence Lens" to support your inner confidence Ways to trust and care for yourself when you have fear How to use your fear as a pathway to peace Why we fear shame ourselves and how to stop doing it No matter what's going on in your life, you have a choice. It only takes a slight shift in direction to begin to change your life.

Definitely one of my favourite podcasts right now, super insightful! Juls is a great host. I love how her episodes can be applied to other industries, not just influencing.

40minutes sales pitch with a little information
Must admit, I really wanted to like this podcast and enjoy listening to Julie. There are some good nuggets of information in each episode but you have to fish them out of the 40minute sales pitch she does for her online services and products ...feels a bit brainwashing and isn’t the reason people come to listen to the episode in the first place. All in all, not for me but probably useful to those who enjoy a good waffle and plenty of white noise
