154. Taking Care of Yourself When You’re Sick
When we are forced to slow down due to illness, it can be like opening a floodgate of harsh thoughts towards ourselves that can create feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy. Whether it’s feeling like you’re not doing enough, you’re letting people down, or you are unworthy of giving your body the rest it needs, these thoughts aren’t serving you and can actually slow down your recovery.
In this episode, find out where your reluctance to let yourself be ill and take time off comes from, and why taking care of yourself is actually a sign of self-respect, not weakness. Learn why being unwell doesn’t make you less capable or valuable, the importance of taking care of yourself when you aren’t feeling great, and my favourite tips for treating yourself in the way you deserve when you’re ill.

153. When Positive Thinking Isn’t Appropriate
Most of us spend our time thinking things on default, without questioning whether they are true or useful. Thought work isn’t about just jumping to unicorns and rainbows, and everything being perfect. It serves to help us explore and question our thoughts and feel all of our emotions - even the ‘negative’ ones. We don’t have to succumb to pressure to think positively all the time, and this week, I’m showing you why.
Join me as I revisit an episode on the topic of positivity pressure and share my general thoughts on positivity and feeling our emotions. Discover the importance of thought work and why it doesn’t involve skipping to a happy place, what to do when positive thinking isn’t appropriate, and how to give yourself the gift of allowing your feelings to be there without judgement.

152. Making “Bad” Decisions
Every single decision you make is a stepping stone, even those that don’t lead you where you expected. Join me this week as I help you change the way you think about making “bad” decisions and show you how to find the value gained from an experience instead. I show you what to do when you make a decision that doesn’t work out in the way you expected or wanted it to, why making one “bad” decision doesn’t mean you are incapable of making decisions in general, and how to use your decisions to learn, grow, and continue moving forward.

150. How to Deal With Anger
What are your thoughts on anger? When was the last time you got angry, and how did you feel about it? Most of us try to avoid, resist, or sidestep anger because we believe it to be destructive, and whilst this can be true in some circumstances, anger can also be a thing of beauty when it’s used appropriately, intentionally, and sparingly.
Join me this week to learn more about the different types of anger that show up within us and how to look beneath the surface to truly navigate and understand your anger. I share the importance of addressing the root cause of your anger and show you how to take the raw energy of anger and channel it in more positive and constructive ways than you might currently be doing.

The Alchemy of Autumn
Though I’ve been listening and actively engaging in Maisie’s coaching for quite some time, this episode was exactly what I needed to hear right now. There always seems to be an episode that helps you to approach the area of life that you are going through, and today this one was perfect. Thank you Maisie for always sharing your personal stories and insight, they are truly appreciated and admired. Soul strengthening! 😊
Very informative and helpful!
I have just listened to Maisie’s episodes 139 and 140, on her experience of being autistic. My daughter is currently being screened for autism and the behaviours Maisie describes such as avoiding showers, disregulation after being touched, losing the ability to use speech at certain times are just a few of the many examples that resonated. The episodes were so helpful in gaining an understanding of the behaviours. Thank you :)
Love love love!
I absolutely love Maisie’s podcast and being part of the flow collective!
I just wanted to ask if it was possible to revert to not having the intense music at the start and end of the show as it’s really jolting? I notice that I jump and my heart starts racing and now I have an awareness that the sudden change in sound puts me into a stress response after being in parasympathetic from listening to an inspiring talk from a woman I love and respect!
