Ep 28 Befriending Your Body with Natalie Burtenshaw

Join me as I chat to Red Tent leader and business owner Natalie Burtenshaw. In this episode Natalie talks about how making friends with her period saved her from a life of misery. We also discuss changing perceptions of menopause, why sitting in circle is so powerful especially during rites of passage and the benefits of breath work, cold showers, singing and vaginal steaming! We also take a look at depression and anxiety and pose the question, does it perpetuate because we keep focusing on it? I was on a high during this episode (and covered in goose bumps most of the time) as we went full throttle into the notion that fighting with your body does you no favours. Ep 26 Do or Don't Do. Stop Trying with Nancy Prager

Join me as a chat to motivational health coach Nancy Prager. Nancy went into an instant menopause after having her ovaries removed when they discover she had the brca2 gene. She talks frankly in this episode about her 2 year journey with anxiety and depression as a result of being thrown in to an 'instapause'. She’s also had a tumultuous time with weight gain and weight loss but has now maintained her weight since age 40 despite very low oestrogen. She's done this through mindset, great eating habits and exercise. We speak about why people can be so resistant to change and the power of discomfort. We also talk about knowing what you want and the change that can happen as a result of self acceptance. I hope you’ll join me in this lively episode with the very bubbly Nancy Prager. Ep 25 Starting or Growing a Business at Menopause

Ep 25 Starting or Growing a Business at Menopause

What would you say if I told you that the reason many women start or scale their business during their peri to post menopausal years is because entrepreneurship extends your metaphorical fertility? Would you be intrigued? I was. This realisation blew me away, that's why I decided to devote my previous 5 episodes to entrepreneurship at menopause. I think it's a hugely important conversation because business provides a vehicle for meaning (and greater meaning means less depression and anxiety, two VERY common symptoms of menopause). In today's episode, we looked at some of the reasons for starting a wellness based business during your peri to post menopausal years AND I give you SIX considerations to help you start or grow. This is for you if: You've learnt a lot about wellbeing as a result of your own menopausal journey and you want to help other women. You're looking for more meaning and purpose in your life beyond (or alongside) the job you currently have. You're looking for more flexibility in your life. You're looking to boost your income. You're looking to create another stream of income. What ever the reason, come join me. Link to Kirsty's Quiz in video: www.kirstykianifard.com/sallyquiz

Love this podcast

I really enjoy listening to this podcast. It’s a chance to hear how other women are feeling and thinking about this time of life, which helps it to feel like something I can understand.
