Your Guide to Choosing The Right Clients

Your Guide to Choosing The Right Clients

Get out your diaries - this week, we're walking through the reasons why you should turn AWAY business if a client is not the right fit for you, and how to have the tough conversations to maintain the health of your business.

*Alternate title: Where the *bleep* is Kate Middleton?* - Don't worry, we're only talking about this trending topic for the first 5 minutes - but we're so consumed by this story right now! If you have any thoughts, please DM us on Instagram - we would LOVE to chat through all the theories!

Here's a peek at what we're covering in this episode:

[07:01] - Karly and Kyrsten begin to talk through the various reasons why they've turned away potential clients, and how you can discern which clients are the right fit for your business. They dive into the first reason (if a potential client is only concerned about high numbers or direct, quick ROI), and explain how to approach the conversation when a potential client stresses their reliance on direct, quick ROI instead of understanding that social media management is a long game.

[19:46] - Karly and Kyrsten go over the second reason they've turned away potential clients (if a potential client's communication style and expectations are not the same as yours), and discuss how to set boundaries and communicate those boundaries to clients. They also share why closing the door on one client because they demonstrate red flags that will be detrimental to you in the long run is often the right choice.

[29:09] - Karly and Kyrsten the third and final reason they've turned away potential clients (if a potential client wants you to convince them to invest in your services in the first place and explain why what you do is important) and outline a few options for what you can do for that potential client instead (like point them to a podcast)!
