#113 - COACHING DEMO: Am I Good Enough

#113 - COACHING DEMO: Am I Good Enough

Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. This episode is a coaching demonstration I did at one of my recent “Coaching Impact Accelerator” workshops. The Coaching Impact Accelerators are taster sessions for people who are seriously considering joining one of my larger programmes to have an experience of what it’s like to work with me. The sessions include a variety of elements, including a coaching demo with one of the participants.
The demo you’re about to hear was with Caroline Delaney, a Mental Health and Wellbeing Educator who wanted to get clarity on purpose and direction in her work life. And as you’ll hear, what started out seeming like it was about “practical stuff” turned out to be about something much deeper that affects many coaches and changeworkers; the question about whether or not they’re good enough. It turns out that the “Am I good enough?” question typically includes a confusion of two categories: skill-level and identity-level.

After the session, Caroline wrote to me about it, saying, “it opened what I can only visually describe as a parting of the seas (like in the moses films lol) to drop in at a deepest level YOU ARE ENOUGH. That’s what dropped in and I'm sitting with it so just wanted to share that and say thank you… I can't for the life of me remember the metaphor you used but that space allowed for the hearing of those words to land 🙏  that's the first I've experienced the valuing to take true meaning…”
The following day, Caroline messaged me again, saying, “Still sitting in the feeling of YOU ARE ENOUGH with different things bubbling up.. I cant put words on it but its a beautiful feeling and no doubt more to unfold 💚 thank you again.”

Just before we get to that, here’s a quick question: Do you want to sit in / pick my brains while I coach a client on a long-term package?

    Here’s what’s happening: I’ve enrolled a client on a 5-figure, long-term coaching package with a difference…

The client has agreed to let a group of coaches and therapists watch, then have me unpack the sessions and answer questions about them.

It kicks off with a 3-day intensive from 28-30 July, and there’s an early booking price if you register by this Friday, July 21st. Go to JamieSmart.com/cpu to book your place on the 1:1 Coaching Package Unpacked, that’s JamieSmart.com/cpu - Charlie, Papa, Uniform - cpu.

    So now to the episode.

Thanks for listening. And if you’re considering joining us for Clarity Certification in September and want to attend the kind of taster session Caroline was on, you can find out more at www.JamieSmart.com/taster, that’s JamieSmart.com/taster - bye!

#112 - INTERVIEW: Wisdom Doesn't Have Rules, Sam Goldfinch

#112 - INTERVIEW: Wisdom Doesn't Have Rules, Sam Goldfinch

Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. This episode is called, “Wisdom Doesn’t Have Rules”, and it’s a recording from the Clarity Coaching Experience event we held last month. The theme for the event was focused on increasing your confidence as a coach, what I call “Impact Certainty”, and it was a great weekend. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with Clarity Coaches who are making a big difference in the world, and I picked their brains about their impact with their clients, and how this understanding has helped them increase that. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with my dear friend and colleague, Sam Goldfinch.

Sam is an educator, a coach, and an explorer in the field of spirituality, transpersonal psychology and addiction. His work takes him many places, but at the core of it is setting people free so they can see the beauty of who they really are. His podcast 'Present & Sober' is one of his deep passions, as are his coaching offerings, Rebel Spirituality and Sober Rebellion. And one of the things that really touched people in the audience when we had this conversation was when we got onto the topic of there being no rules for wisdom, so I’m excited to share it with you.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the September 2023 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme.

Clarity Certification has recently been accredited by the International Coaching Federation (the ICF) as a provider of Continuous Coach Education, so if you’re already an ICF-certified coach, you can use the programme to earn CCE units. Either way, you can take part in CCT with full confidence that the programme is fully accredited by the ICF as a Continuous Coaching Education provider. And there’s a special earlybird price if you book your place by the end of May. By the way, the first 12 places have already been taken, so there are only 24 places left. Just go to www.JamieSmart.com/coach

#111 - INTERVIEW: Coaching in the Midst of Crisis with Mahima Shrestha

#111 - INTERVIEW: Coaching in the Midst of Crisis with Mahima Shrestha

Hi. I’m Jamie Smart. Welcome to the podcast. I’ve called this episode, “Coaching in the Midst of Crisis”, and it’s a recording from the Clarity Coaching Experience event we held earlier this month. The theme for the event was “Increasing your Impact Certainty” and it was a beautiful weekend. We had coaches joining us from all around the world, and there was a lovely sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with Clarity Coaches who are making a big difference in the world, and I picked their brains about their impact with their clients, and how this understanding has helped them increase that. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with my dear friend and colleague, Mahima Shrestha. Now, you may have seen an amazing conversation I had with Mahima a few years ago when I interviewed her about her experience of the 2015 Nepal earthquake. That was right at the start of her journey as a coach, and since then, she’s developed extensive experience in coaching individuals and organizations through crisis. Mahima works with entrepreneurs, innovators, activists, and changemakers- bringing bright people together to solve complex problems. And you’re going to hear how her certainty about what people have going for them is fundamental to the difference she makes with clients.

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that the doors are now open for the September 2023 intake of our flagship Clarity Certification Training programme.

#109 - Develop Your Intuition with Carl Harvey

#109 - Develop Your Intuition with Carl Harvey

I’m Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. I’ve called this episode, “Develop Your Intuition”, and it’s a recording from the ClarityLive! event we held in November. The theme for the event was “Passion, Purpose & Personal Expression” and it was really great. We had people joining us from all around the world, and there was a lovely sense of community, with lots of profound insights. And one of the things we did was I had ‘fireside chat’ conversations with people who are having a big impact in the world, and I picked their brains about what it means to bring your unique expression to life, and how this understanding has helped them do that. And my idea for this was that we would be talking shop; the kind of conversation that I have with my colleagues over coffee, and that most people never get to hear. So in this podcast, you’re going to be hearing one of those, a conversation I had with my dear friend and colleague, Carl Harvey. Carl is the founder of the Abundance Book Club and The Big Life show. And he was also MindValley's head copywriter for a couple of years - Carl's a powerhouse!

Just before we get to that, I wanted to mention that my beloved Emma McDevitt and I are offering a new programme starting in January called the Clarity Professional Programme: Bring Your Unique Expression to Life.

The theme of uncovering and living your unique expression is one that’s very alive for us both, so we’re inspired to share it with a group of explorers.

We’ve created a brief video about the programme and a simple 'unique expression diagnostic' process. Its purpose is to continue deepening your awareness of your unique expression and to help us (me and Emma) get a sense of where you're at in your journey.

If you want to watch the video, do the diagnostic and find out more about the programme, just pop an email to support@jamiesmart.com with the word “video” in the subject line and we’ll get everything over to you.

And you can find out more about Carl and his work at www.CarlHarvey.com

    So now to the episode.
