The Vesta Clinic is such a heartwarming, gorgeous audio drama that is filled to the brim with humanity, even when the patients are anything but human. I pitch it to friends as “Doctors in Space” but it’s so much more than that — it’s about the doctors, their relationships, heartbreak and struggles, but it’s also about the patients. The show is so filled with empathy for each patient in the span of a 20(ish) minute episode, even the more ‘difficult’ patients are treated with compassion. Also I don’t know the background of the creator but I’d put money on it being a medical background because the medical knowledge behind these patients’ ailments is FASCINATING. Highly recommend, seriously, the writing is fantastic, the voice acting is wonderful, the music has made me cry on multiple occasions, and there’s also a snarky AI to get emotionally attached to — what more could you want?
