"Hollywood" Steve Huey, David Lyons, JD Ryznar, and Hunter Stair, the team that coined the genre "yacht rock" with their legendary webseries, rate curated and listener-suggested tracks on the highly-accurate Yachtski Scale to build out the playlist of certified yacht rock songs. Their analysis employs a precise scientific method that involves a deep well of musical knowledge, impeccably trained ears, sophomoric banter, and, most impressively, uses a spreadsheet algorithm to add scores & divide them by four. This may sound intimidating but fear not! The hosts let you in on their decades-long friendship and make you feel like part of the team. Can you guess how they'll rate each song? "Yacht or Nyacht" is hands down one of the most entertaining podcasts out there and my go-to podcast every Tuesday when a new episode drops. The hosts - who invented the “Yacht Rock” genre - invite their Patreon supporters to submit songs and they then rate them on a scale of 0-100 to determine whether they make the boat (50+) or nyacht (<50). The 4 man presenting team has a great dynamic: blending humor and expert knowledge to create a fun and engaging listening experience, especially when debating about whether each song yacht or nyacht. As a collector, it’s great to hear songs that you wouldn’t hear elsewhere as well as their take on tracks that are known to me. I f you're a Yacht Rock enthusiast or just someone who loves a good laugh, good music or both then this podcast is THE one.

Great Yachts!! I love this podcast these 4 guys are all high on music and provide a slanted but well informed insight into Yacht Rock and what rocks their boat, all done with a good sense of fun and humour 😉👍
