Oh Mercy

Oh mercy! I can safely say this is a good podcast as I been listening since time out of mind. The best Dylan content under the red sky. It’s sure to make waves across the planet. You’ll really be knocked out, it’s loaded with great content. In these modern times, in a world gone wrong, I strongly desire that Ian and Evan continue to make podcasts together through life - they really are fallen angels and would never resort to rough and/or rowdy ways. It’s obvious they love what they do - so there’s no need for the theft of ideas from other Dylan podcasts. Great to listen to amid the shadows at night or even in a new morning as the sun rises over the Nashville skyline. Or in a tempest on a slow train when there’s blood on the tracks. Or just on the street with people named John, Wesley, Pat, or Billy. Don’t worry - it’s perfectly legal. I hope every episode has been saved in triplicate on tapes and stored safely in a basement. Their work is certainly no burlesque, and they deserve an empire of fans. Every new instalment makes it feel like Christmas in the heart. Speaking for myself, the shows really create a portrait of Dylan as an artist. Don’t listen to the infidels out there - treat yourself to a shot of Dylan love today. Get down with the Jokermen groove!

Curiously addictive, consistently funny

Lured in by the fact they named the show after one of my favourite Bob songs - and a photo I’d not seen before of Bob with a chain slung over his shoulder and a statue of Pan - I naively thought at first this might be one Bob pod too many for me. But it is curiously addictive; I kept coming back and before I knew it I was regularly laughing out loud to deep-cut Jokermen in-jokes that steadily increased in hilarity. Jokermen is a joy - I bought the t-shirt. The new season is off to a promising start too - to hear Evan and Ian waxing lyrical about John Cale’s Paris 1919 will put great spin on your day.

Real Bob talk

No guys in their 50s and 60s that can’t see past 1960s Dylan, no over-literary takes – a true appreciation of the entirety of this guy’s career.
