Interesting format

A recent discovery and now a regular listen. Unlike another popular news pod where it seems they’re sometimes fighting for airtime (!) the presenters / guests on this one seem less focussed on overt entertainment and more on engaging the audience with journalism. Passionately presenting topics, varied guests, serious but often witty - I can listen to this podcast anytime. Thank you tortoise!

Not sure

Sometimes the figures used on this podcast don’t seem like the right ones. Eg on the latest voicemail, figures were given for the percentage of global military spending but not at all clear that the numbers had been examined to account for the fact that UK massively overpays for kit due to rubbish procurement or Russia can produce effective arms at a fraction of the average western state cost. So seems a bit sloppy in places but still a good listen overall.

Water Pollution

Loved today’s episode, where water pollution was discussed. The passionate debate was invigorating and a refreshing change.
