Overwhelm & what to do about it | Episode 14
In this week’s episode of You’re Better Than That, we have an honest chat about overwhelm and get honest about a few home truths that we might need to come to terms with, and, what we might be able to do about it. We chat about:
• Why labour-saving devices are the original con
• The burden of unpaid labour
• How we’re living out our very own Greek myth
• Why we find ourselves doing it (this is a bit deep)
• What we can do about it - some actual ways to resist overwhelm -
How to strategically underperform | Episode 13
In this week's episode, we're exploring a new way to approach time management and embrace the concept of living with limitations. We're challenging the conventional wisdom that says we need to be highly productive and excel at everything. Instead, we're focusing on intentionality, balance, and the beauty of simplicity.

You're always going to run out of time | Episode 12
Why are we so obsessed with it? Why do we feel the need to keep hacking it? How many clocks do you have in your house? The reality that we all need to come to terms with is, we never really have time. What does he mean by this? Well, you’ll need to listen to get the full explanation but essentially, we don’t ever actually control time. We may see it as something to control and master - but it’s never truly ours to do that with, really.

I need to stop procrastinating | Episode 11
Procrastination is a part of life. It’s a part of life that can drive me crazy - when I see it in myself, but probably even more so when I see it in others. most of the things we struggle with can't just be solved by slapping a sticking plaster on the situation. Irritatingly we need to go a bit deeper and look at the reasons behind why we are doing what we are doing. Only then can we start to make the right kind of plan to change and grow. In this week’s episode we get stuck into the topic of procrastination and rather than just berating ourselves for sometimes not getting the right stuff done, we look a little deeper under the surface!

Feel the fear and do it anyway | Episode 10
I would love to introduce you to our first guest, my friend, Olivia Barker-White. Along with her friends Corrie and Sam, Olivia founded a fantastic charity called Kids Club Kampala, back when she was too young to know better. Before she was too young to realise she didn’t have all that it takes to do this. And yet, look where she is, doing it anyway, and doing a fantastic job. Olivia is mum to three little ones and a wife to her husband. She’s currently on her third mat leave and so she kindly took some time out from the day to day to have a chat with me. In this episode we have an honest chat about:
• Leading an organisation and coming to terms with your own shortcomings
• Doing things before you are ready (and how to be braver)
• Juggling work and parenting
• How to take the first step

Dealing with disappointment | Episode 09
In this episode, I delve into the significance of Easter Saturday and how it resonates with moments of disappointment in our lives. It's a quiet, in-between phase where many of us feel adrift and unfulfilled.
I share personal insights on the importance of managing expectations, stressing the need to communicate them clearly in relationships to avoid unnecessary disappointment. Reflecting on my own experiences, I discuss strategies for coping with disappointment, such as adjusting expectations retroactively and evaluating personal control over situations.
