Bonus Episode: Chris Baddick's extended interview

The Trial of Lord Lucan

The Policeman's Story: In this episode we hear from Chris Baddick, the first officer on the scene that night at Lower Belgrave Street. He tells us how, after he broke the door down, he went into the basement and found the dead body of Sandra Rivett as she lay in the mail sack.

He tells us the house was in darkness and in the hallway he stood on something that he thought was a children’s toy – but he later realised it was the murder weapon.

Chris, who is now retired and living in South London, also tells us of the moment he heard Lord Lucan talking on the phone to his mother, hours after the attack. He heard him say he would contact the police - but he never did.

‘The Trial of Lord Lucan’ is an innovative week-long podcast event where you the listener, are the jury.
