EP 20: HOT TAKES on Listener Feedback on a Past Episode and Physiatrist Prescribing Nature for Mental Illness

Nick and Todd are back with more mental health news, ready to dissect the headlines and spark your critical thinking.

Todd shares listener feedback from a recent episode of the show. The listener and Todd discussed how some past language used was offensive and oppressive. Nick and Todd discuss their reflections on the feedback, trigger warnings, and how to conduct respectful and productive conversations about controversial topics.

Nick shares a story about a psychiatrist named Nora Dennis who is prescribing a nature retreat to help people with mental health struggles. The retreat comes as a result of her frustration with some of the limitations of working in corporate and institutional medicine and learning her clients are “desperate to go outside.” Nick and Todd discuss the benefits of spending time in nature and the role it can play in mental health treatment.

Prepare for passionate arguments, diverse perspectives, and a deeper understanding of the complex world of mental health. Join Nick and Todd for Mental Health Headlines Hot Takes to engage your mind and challenge your assumptions.

Nick and Todd are back with more mental health news, ready to dissect the headlines and spark your critical thinking.
