What do you know about the world of mycology? Have you foraged for mushrooms? Have you grown or harvested mushrooms? Is it time to understand the power of the invisible life, the biological internet, under your feet?
Ingrid West and her husband are owners of Misty Dawn Farm, a log grown Shiitake mushroom farm located in Stoughton Wi. Their mushrooms are grown on logs sustainably harvested from their forests as part of their forest improvement plan. Ingrid started Misty Dawn Farm in 2014 in response to the Managed Forest Law program that required that our woods in Vernon County be harvested. Their forests are managed for watershed protection, wildlife enhancement and biodiversity so the trees they do harvest are carefully selected and harvested with care.
Learn how Ingrid came to farm and harvest mushrooms sustainably and incorporate them into her life. She is passionate about mushrooms and teaches in workshops. We'll also chat about the medicinal aspects of mycelium. Stay tuned.
