What Builds Us Coalesce Design

In this third episode of Season Three, we are talking all about sound! Sean and Brian talk through how important sound is in understanding space, and how we all take cues about spaces from the sounds we hear. Then we have three great interviews with a series of musicians! We talk to Boston bands Bat House and Hawthorn, as well as recording engineer Colin Fleming. All three share great insights about the power of sound and music to shape space and experience.

In our second episode of Season Two, we are sniffing around all about smell! Brian and Sean work through the unsung but important role of smell in understanding space and the city, and then chat with Dr. Kate McLean. Kate has developed a process of "smellmapping" urban environments, and we talk through this approachable and insightful practice and the amazing maps that result.
