3本のエピソード

Human Resources is a three-part podcast series by poet and theatre-maker Hannah Jane Walker, exploring the simple complicated task of being a person. Each episode poses a question that seems too simple to ask: How do we deal with our mistakes? Is friendship fundamental to our survival? How do we keep breathing through a crisis? Through storytelling, documentary and poetry, Hannah and her collaborators open up a space of care and creative challenge in which they invite their listeners to consider the unlikely sources of potential resource in their own lives, and how they might use them a little differently.
Sound design by Hana Walker-Brown. Artist welfare practitioner — Lou Platt. Outside eye — Ross Sutherland. Episode 3 commissioned by Cambridge Junction as part of HOME Manchester's Homemakers series 2020. Supported by Arts Council England.

    Episode 1 – Fucking Up

The first episode of the series explores fucking up, with theatre maker Chris Thorpe. In 2011, Hannah and Chris made a show together called The Oh Fuck Moment – a show about how we culturally handle mistakes, asking audiences to celebrate them instead. In 2014, Hannah and Chris made a series of mistakes that fucked up their working relationship. This episode asks, how do you get back into a room together, even if you believe the other to be wrong? This episode asks what kind of mistake-maker you might be.

    Episode 2 – Real Friends

    Episode 2 – Real Friends

The second episode of this series looks at friendship, with playwright Rachel Mariner. Pre-Covid, Rachel and Hannah developed a theatre piece exploring friendship and its impact on wellbeing. In this episode, they look at the impact of Covid-19 on friendship. They explore finding a language to talk about friendship, and whether friendship is something that gets de-prioritised alongside romantic relationships and conventional family units. This episode asks what kind of friend you are, what your friends offer and whether you are getting what you need.
