As humans, it’s natural for us to make mistakes - and there are many different ways to view our mistakes...
Here are two perspectives:
I made a mistake, I don’t think I can recover from this mishap.
I made a mistake, but I can learn from it and take the steps needed to avoid making it again.
Practicing self-compassion involves being gentle with yourself - understanding that you are human - and when found in undesirable situations knowing that you are still worthy of your best - and you did the best you could in that given moment.
It is extending the same kindness you would give to your friend, to yourself.
You are your own best friend. -
