Walking Misses Miho #1 - The Hentai Monster

    [Originally aired on August 2022]

THIS IS AN EXPERIMENT! If Miho allows me to keep recording our dogé walks (and after my shenanigans of this episode the prospect seems highly unlikely) then perhaps this will be a new segment on the show. Assuming you all dig it, that is.

新型 Happy Hour #1 - The Dejima System, etc.

Trevor-kohai was dragged kicking and screaming back into DIJ studios, strapped to a chair, waterboarded with Calpis, and re-educated in the art of podcasting WW2 Japanese Secret Police-style.  The result is this Happy Hour.

The outro was Ryu Ga Gotaku from the famous Yakuza game franchise. The intro was my original mashup of Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), a few anime sound bites, some kabuki, a cheap recording of my son’s Buzz Lightyear toy, and “Dubstep" from BenSound.

Oh, and let us not forget the Japanese version of Simon and Garfunkel's Sound of Silence!

Amazing!

This podcast is spectacular. Hands down, the best podcast about life in Japan out there. Funny, witty, insightful, and at times hilariously stupid.

Thank you

Thank you, so happy to have found your show :). I appreciate having something to listen to as it nears my third trip to Japan in July.

Great podcast!

A great podcast which mixes humor and darkness with equal measure. It shows how life really is in Japan; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Highly recommended...
