Joshua Michael Wenner: The Gift Of Grief & Why Regulating Your Nervous System is the #1 Key To Healthy Relationships | EP 22

Joshua Michael Wenner is an entrepreneur, veteran, and emotional resilience expert. Over the past 20 years, he has dedicated himself to growing companies and supporting others in maximizing their potential. He is also the founder of the Emotional Resilience Training (ERT).

Following the loss of his brother to a heroin overdose nearly two decades ago, Joshua embarked on a journey of healing navigating through his own grief and heartbreak. This led him to interview numerous experts in the fields of grief and trauma, culminating in an upcoming documentary called "The Gift of Grief." Through this process, Joshua acquired tools, insights, and awareness about loss and trauma, which enabled him to rediscover the joy in life.

Guided by his experiences Joshua initiated Emotional Resiliency Training retreats for men, teaching them to embrace grief and incorporate somatic-based methods to express anger and sadness in effective ways. Today, his coaching, curriculum, and frameworks are utilized to assist high-achievers, successful entrepreneurs, men, first responders, veterans, and individuals dealing with extreme stress and trauma.

When I first encountered Joshua's work, I was deeply moved by his personal story of loss and his journey toward finding meaning amidst grief and heartbreak. After listening to him speak, I could truly feel his well-rounded and embodied wisdom in various realms that I've been exploring for a number of years, such as grief and nervous system regulation work, men's work, and relationships.

In this interview, Joshua and I delve deeply into all of those subjects, and how they're interconnected. This is a conversation I highly recommend you listen to the end, as it provides invaluable insights and personal experiences into loss, grief, relationships and personal growth..

Carolina Zavala: What Women Truly Want — A Guide To Relationships | EP 21

Carolina Zavala: What Women Truly Want — A Guide To Relationships | EP 21

Carolina Zavala is a relationship & intimacy mentor, primarily supporting women and couples, to overcome relational blocks and insecurities, so they can experience the depth of intimacy and connection that they truly long for.

Now, this is a special episode and the reason is because after 20 published episode, I am thrilled and honored to finally bring our first female guest on the podcast. And I couldn't be more delighted to have Carolina on.

Carolina is a friend here on the island of the Bali, and one of the things that's deeply connected both of us is our personal fascination around the topic of relationships.

And considering that Carolina primarily works with women, whereas I mostly with men around relationships, I thought it be valuable for us to come together and engage in a discussion from our individual perspectives.

What I was longing to provide for all the men listening in, is a sneak peak into the mind and heart of a woman who's dedicated her life to this path, with the hope of creating more clarity on how to navigate the at times murky waters of relationships.

But this conversation isn't solely for our brothers. This one as I see it is for everybody who longs to understand how to create the love that they truly desire.

As I listened back to this conversation in preparation to bringing it on the podcast, I came to enjoy the flexible and playful dynamic between Carolina and I – and I hope it will offer a refreshing, new flavor to this podcast.

In this conversation, Carolina and I cover following topics:

Carolina's personal entry into learning more about relationships
The myth of the "perfect relationship"
The pain-points that Carolina's female clients communicate about their relationships
Why being a "nice guy" is a turn off
The importance of leadership and taking charge in relationships
Why trying to "keep it all together" in our relationships will always lead to disconnection
What men truly need to step into deeper confidence in relationship
How we can create more spark & juiciness in the bedroom
Why communication is so important in the bedroom
What we can do when our triggers arise
The importance of sharing our pain with an open heart
Why taking radical responsibility is the key to healthy relating

Justin Patrick Pierce: Playing with Fire — How To Create & Sustain Desire in Relationship | EP 20

Justin Patrick Pierce: Playing with Fire — How To Create & Sustain Desire in Relationship | EP 20

Justin Patrick Pierce is a spiritual intimacy teacher, relationship mentor & the co-author of the widely acclaimed books „The awakened woman's guide to everlasting love“ and „Playing with Fire“.

As the founder of "The Yoga of Intimacy," Justin has dedicated his life to guiding individuals towards deeper connections & intimacy with themselves and others.

2 years ago, when I was diving deep into the topic of Relationships & Intimacy, I was deeply impacted by the teachings of polarity, that refer to these opposing forces commonly referred to as masculine or feminine energetics, doing or being energy, alpha or omega, and these were widely popularized by teachers such as David Deida.

When I first became exposed to Justin's work alongside his Wife, Londin Angel Winters, I deeply appreciated their flexible approach to these teachings, where in the past I've found them to be too prescriptive towards how I and my partner was supposed to be.

In his work, Justin commonly refers to these expressions as "Alpha" and "Omega," which can be seen as different energetic ways of operating. He has popularized the term "energetic agility" in relationships, speaking to our ability to adapt to different expressions depending on what the moment is calling for.

I wanted to bring Justin along to speak to the essence of his teachings, and we ended up Immersing ourselves in an exploration of the challenges he sees among men and how they can be supported in the realm of relationships.

Speaking into his latest book „Playing With Fire“, Justin and I went deep into this conversation around desire and how we're able to create, and even sustain desire in the long-term in our romantic partnerships.

It has truly been an honor to sit with Justin for the hour and a half we had together, and the conversation did not disappoint, being filled with transformative insights and exploration. If you are a man or a woman who would like to deepen their connection & desire in relationship, this one's for you.

In this conversation, Justin and I explore:

What is the "Yoga of Intimacy"
    The importance of Integrity
What is "alpha" & "omega" and how do these apply in relationships?
How we can release the grasp from the inner judge
Why nothing that you do, acquire and achieve can ever satiate the innate desire for freedom
One practice that we can do to deepen our connection to ourselves and our partners
How we can create deeper desire in relationship
How we can become more trustable with our desire
How we use desire to deepen trust in our interactions

Aaron Binning: Leading A Generation Of Boys Into Manhood | EP 18

Aaron Binning: Leading A Generation Of Boys Into Manhood | EP 18

Aaron Binning is an experienced Social Worker, Educator & Youth Mentor.

For a number of years, Aaron put his focus towards supporting at-risk young people, gaining invaluable first hand experience, training and qualifications along the way.

Driven by his passion for creating positive change, Aaron came to Bali at the beginning of 2020.

This is where he created The Road, an initiative aimed at empowering and educating young men through experiential learning. Through his work he aims to enable young men to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery, allowing them to understand themselves, their peers, and the world around them.

Aaron's vision is to equip young men with life lessons and skills through guidance that many of us missed out on. He firmly believes in the importance of human connection through self-expression and vulnerability, recognizing that the cultivation of these skills are often missed.

These past few months I've been connecting with a number of men who are fathers of young boys and it got me thinking:

What can we do in order to effectively allow our boys transition into maturity and manhood?

What is it that I and many of my fellow men missed out on that left a lasting impact on us?

And so with that, I wanted to engage in a discussion...

For anybody who is not a parent nor a young man moving through adolescence, my hope is that we still get to use this conversation as an access point to reflect on our own lives and past experiences. In my own exploration of what was absent during my upbringing and the impact this may have had on me; I've found such explorations to be empowering as it offered me the opportunity to intentionally provide myself with the things that I lacked.

For parents of young men, I hope this can illuminate an understanding of what may be present for them and how you may be able to support them.

A reminder: I want to humbly name that both Aaron and I are not fathers and neither of us want to assume to have any answers here, but the intention was begin a conversation – especially with Aaron's vast experiences of working with young men.

Aaron Kleinerman: What Does It Mean To Be An Embodied Man? | EP 17

Aaron Kleinerman: What Does It Mean To Be An Embodied Man? | EP 17

Aaron Kleinerman is a transformational Tantric Coach, facilitator, speaker and author of the best-selling book „The Embodied Man“

After attending the marine academy, his career started off as a licensed merchant mariner, traveling the world, navigating ships and making a good salary. However, Aaron's life took an unexpected turn when he woke up one day, unable to move, on the very day he was about to embark on another mission

Something within him knew that this wasn't the path laid out for him, encouraging him to take action on the changes asking to be made. Following his intuition, he moved to California to pursue a master's degree in spiritual psychology, leading him down the path of supporting individuals in the areas of transformation and relationships.

Transitioning from navigating ships at sea, Aaron has shifted his focus to navigating souls in the realms of love, sex and leadership

Aaron and I first connected a couple of years ago at one of his men's retreat I participated at, which left a transformational impact on me.

In our conversation on this podcast, I explored Aaron's take & insights around men's work, relationship & sexuality drawing form the conversations we've had but also the rich perspective he provides in his book „the embodied man“ - which I've found to be an integrated outline of what it looks like to pursue mastery in all aspects of being a man.

The conversation that followed was a fun, deep, juicy and at times provocative exploration into a wide array of topics and I can't wait for all of you to listen in.
