Lt. Col. Scott Mann - Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret
Today we have over 130 countries in a humanitarian and security emergency, classified as failed, failing or fragile states. Lt Col. Scott Mann (Ret) is one of the architects of Village Stability Operations or VSO, a local approach to defeating violent extremists. He drafted the first ever VSO methodology which ultimately became the standard approach for all Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan and was the VSO lead for all of the US Special Operations Command.
Scott has spent his twenty-three year Army Special Forces Career involved in Foreign Internal Defense, Counter-insurgency, and Stability Missions all over the world. Scott has served in the Special Operations Community for over 18 years and has been a Green Beret for over 15 years. During that time Scott spent over 10 years in 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) where he served in a variety of Foreign Internal Defense and combat deployments in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
Today, Scott is co-founder of the nonprofit organization "The Heroes Journey," best selling author of the book "Game Changers: Going Local to Defeat Violent Extremists," and is a producer of the play "Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret."
