He went from Rochester to University of Michigan – Flint where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He has experience working with high school, collegiate and professional athletes. He has certifications in Dry Needling (Cert DN) from American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, and is also certified in Men’s Pelvic Floor Therapy through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. He has a passion for orthopedic and sports injuries to help people achieve their personal goals and return to an active lifestyle. He is additionally trained in joint manipulation, blood flow restriction (BFR) and Class IV Laser certified. Dr. Matt Zitny is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and the Michigan Physical Therapy Association (MPTA). Jamahal sat down for an interview with Dr. Eric Broadworth to discuss how he has used his mindset to help him rehabilitate injuries including his Achilles tear as well as get ready for a fight and a key part of his success for rehabbing injuries using red light therapy. He discusses his plans to retire by age 36 and the next 2 fighters he wants to face as soon as he is able to return to fighting once he is medically cleared to return. Luminary Fitness and 8th Day Gym are coming together to put on a CrossFit competition to raise awareness for our community of health and wellness. Luminate The Day is 100% nonprofit, where the event will be working to raise funds for Windy Willow Foundation and The Phoenix. Windy Willow Foundation is a nonprofit that provides financial aid for mental health services as well as partner with American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to support local programs. The Phoenix is a nonprofit that uses the transformative power of community and connection to build a sober active community all over the US. All programs The Phoenix offers are free!
