The disappearance of Maureen Leianuhea Kelly

On June 9th, 2013, Maureen Leianuhea Kelly went on a camping trip with her friends in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Before the sun set, she informed her friends she was going to go on a spiritual request, which she had been expressing her desire to do for months. Maureen stripped down and left with only a fanny pack that had a knife, matches, and a compass. After failing to return by midnight, her friends reported her missing. The only clue police and searchers were able to find was footprints that matched Maureen's shape and size that lead to a road. Due to the terrain, underbrush, and lack of available resources Maureen had when she disappeared, investigators have announced they believe Maureen succumbed to hypothermia, while her family and friends believe she may not want to be found.
