Diary of a Mad Black Man is about my life, mental health and anything I find interesting enough to write about in my diary. This podcast is therapeutic, part of my self care routine, and my way of ending the stigma surrounding mental health - especially within the black community.

I believe the story of our greatest downfall is the story of our greatest breakthrough. Sharing how we persevered through tribulations becomes a survival guide, filled with inspiration and encouragement for someone else.

DE 89: The Death and Rebirth of Blake [Season 3 Finale]

Wow, I am mesmerized that I am writing this. Diary entry 89, Season 3 Finale of Diary of a Mad Black Man. There is a lot to say but I will keep it short for now. If you've been following my podcast since I started, you know the growth, you've experienced it with me. Over the past year in 2020, we have all be challenged by the uncontrollable mental anguish we have all experienced. As my audience, you know my mental anguish didn't begin this year, it was amplified.

I am taking a break on the podcast for a while. I am not sure when I will return to this but I can assure you, I will be back. This diary entry came after a difficult conversation I had and probably should not have had. However, it happened. The message here is that I need to rest. I need to take some more time to heal and process what I have created. It has been a beautiful journey overall and it is because of this safe space I created for myself, I am still alive today.

My audience, you, know why I do this. It's not for the downloads, plays, money or "clout" that can potentially be gained. This is what healing looks like, for me. This is my truth. I am speaking my truth, living my truth and healing. Its a journey, not a destination. Its a process that will probably be forever ongoing.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for listening, supporting and engaging with me. I will be back in 2021 with Season 4 of my podcast. Bigger, better, and more healed than I am today. Making money, seeking downloads, or plays is not the motive of this podcast. Healing is. I hope for peace, prosperity, and an abundance of blessings to you and yours. Until we meet again, sometime in 2021, take care and stay blessed and be safe.

DE 88: A BPC Collab with Handsome Guy Named Will, Host of Black Love Renaissance Podcast

In this diary entry, I sit down with one of the most dedicated members of The Black Podcast Club, Handsome Will, creator and host of Black Love Renaissance Podcast. Will was one of the first people to believe in me and what I created with The Black Podcast Club.  In this diary entry, we discuss everything from growing up in Baltimore, challenges in high school and things we have experiences as black men growing up finding our own way. This was a a great collab and I enjoyed having him on my podcast.

DE 86: A conversation with a Police Officer [Part 2]

DE 86: A conversation with a Police Officer [Part 2]

In this diary entry, I have the pleasure of being joined by Officer Nick again for another conversation with a police officer. We touch on many issues surrounding policing, race relations, society, mental health, and education. This episode also touched on the murder of Breonna Taylor. For me, this episode was hard to do because there is so much knowledge that I do not have. However, what you can expect is more conversation like this in season 4 of Diary of a Mad Black Man. A series of episode with Officer Nick is in the production!

DE 85: From Germany to Kansas, A Collab with Miro, My Freedom School Brother [International Blackness Finale]

In this diary entry, I am joined by my brother from another mother, Miro Heyink. I met Miro over 10 years ago when I was a servant leader intern with CDF Freedom Schools. Miro is now a Mindset meditation and intuitive business coach. Originally from Hamburg Germany, we have an amazing, inspirational conversation about his life, the international black experience and making his dreams real against all odds, starting from a near death experience as a teenager gang member in Germany.

DE 84: Self-Care for Black Men [Black Mental Health and Wellness Series]

In this diary entry, I had the pleasure of meeting with the creator of Self-care for Black Men (@selfcareforblackmen). Sharin is a self-care advocate with a mental health background who loves having deep conversations about things that matter. She considers herself a servant by helping people help themselves.  In this entry, we discuss self-awareness, mental wellness, and childhood messages into adulthood. Another powerful episode with many insightful knowledge about mental health and wellness.
