God Commands Abraham to Offer Issac

One of the Ten Commandments is “Thou shalt not murder.” Are there any exceptions? Can God overrule it? This is what happens in Genesis 22. God tells Abraham: “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.” Abraham starts to obey. But, just as he is about to kill his son, an angel appears and says: “Do not stretch out your hand against the lad, and do nothing to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.” God says:”… I will greatly bless you … In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” What is this story about?
