Pacific push for recognition of crime of ecocide

The Pacific Islands are some of the most vulnerable nations on earth when it comes to ecological destruction and the effects of climate change

But three island nations, Vanuatu, Fiji and Samoa, are using the international courts to fight back. 

This week the three countries have introduced a submission to the International Criminal Court in Hague, asking for an amendment to recognise ecocide as a crime against humanity.
