EP 2: Career Advice From a Campus Recruiter ft. Cam Bohorquez

In today's episode of Career Diaries with me, Snigdha Suvarna, I interviewed Cam Bohorquez a campus recruiter within the consulting industry. Cam is a highly passionate career advisor and campus recruiter. He received his undergraduate degree in organizational/industrial psychology and his graduate degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has had a very non-linear career path and has experience in film/photography, sales, construction/operations management, career advising, and human resources/talent acquisition. He started his campus recruiting career in 2017 at a large tech company in San Jose, CA, where he co-managed the university relations and campus recruiting/internship programs. He is currently a senior campus recruiter at an accounting/consulting firm in Chicago, IL, where he manages the full-cycle campus recruiting program for their consulting business unit. He also oversees the student leadership event pipeline and internship program. He is passionate about guiding students to make informed career decisions that will lead to fulfilling lives while providing them with the opportunity to serve their communities. He does this by coaching students to be self-aware and seek opportunities with firms that align with their personal values. His approach to campus recruiting is to avoid being a salesman, and instead, to be a coach/advisor to students.
