EP. 54 Nick Diaz Gloves & Roses

On this episode of the FatBoy MMA Podcast, DC and Lock are giving flowers to Nick Diaz. Nick Diaz, people! We're talking about a stand-up guy, a real warrior in the MMA world. He's been in the game since 2001, putting it all on the line every single time he steps into the cage. This ain't no walk in the park, folks. This is a man with a 26-10 professional MMA record, always willing to throw down with the best. Diaz started this journey back in '01 against Mike Wick, putting a stamp on his career from day one. Let me tell you, there ain't no easy matches in this game. He's taken on the likes of Robbie Lawler, Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, and Carlos Condit. Each of these fights was a test, a chance to prove his worth. Did he back down? Never. That's not the Diaz way. We're talking about a man with a heart of a lion. Diaz ain't playing games. He's got a finish rate of 81% - 13 wins by knockout, 8 by submission, and 5 by decision. That's what I call versatility. Now, let's rewind the clock to 2004. UFC 47. Diaz vs Lawler. Diaz drops Lawler in the second round. That win wasn't just a victory; it was a message to the world that Diaz was here to stay1. Fast forward to 2021, Diaz and Lawler run it back. This time, Lawler gets the W, but Diaz showed his heart, standing toe-to-toe with Lawler. Then we got UFC 183. Diaz vs Anderson Silva. A fight that goes the distance, only to end in a no contest. But Diaz, he showed his heart in that fight. He stood up against one of the best in the game and held his own. Diaz's story ain't about the wins or losses. It's about “the fight in the man”. He's got that warrior spirit, that never-back-down attitude that makes him a true legend of the sport. His journey is a testament to what it means to be a fighter: to keep standing, keep fighting, no matter what. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

EP. 50 Jon "Bones" Jones The GOAT?

In this episode DC and Lock discuss whether Jon "Bones" Jones has officially become the GOAT. Jon "Bones" Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Born on July 19, 1987, in Rochester, New York, Jones displayed remarkable athleticism from a young age. He began his martial arts journey in high school, where he excelled in wrestling and earned a state championship. Jones made his professional MMA debut in 2008, and his immense talent was immediately apparent. Displaying an exciting and unorthodox fighting style, he quickly made a name for himself in the MMA world. With a combination of striking, grappling, and submissions, Jones showcased a well-rounded skill set that left opponents struggling to find a weakness. In 2011, at just 23 years old, Jones became the youngest UFC Light Heavyweight Champion in history after defeating Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. Jones' reign was marked by an impressive string of title defenses against formidable opponents, including Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Lyoto Machida, and Rashad Evans. During his illustrious career, Jones has set numerous records, including the most title defenses in the light heavyweight division and the longest unbeaten streak in UFC history. His accomplishments have earned him widespread recognition, including numerous Fighter of the Year awards and consistent appearances on pound-for-pound rankings.
