Diagnosis is often delayed 12-16 months, during which patients can be severely disabled. No established treatment guidelines exist for POEMS. A recent HemaSphere published article Comprehensive Diagnosis and Management of POEMS Syndrome offers a clinical blueprint for managing POEMS, from diagnostics to work-up, therapy selection, follow-up, and relapse treatment.
