The ultimate goal of a promo email is to encourage your subscriber in your email list to perform your most desired outcome (in this case, clicking a link). Clicking on the link would then bring them to the next stage of your sales funnel, whether if its to lead them to a blog post, landing page or sales page.

    Here are some great tips for improving click-through rates:

    Use a link Cloaker or url shortener. Many a time, affiliate links that you promote come with very suspicious and spammy looking links. The way to overcome this is by using a link Cloaker to customize your links. This often increases click through rates. Long links are also unsightly and have the potential to reduce clicks, hence using a link shortening service link Tinyurl or Bit.ly can have a significant improvement on your results.

    Include a call to action. While as silly as this sounds, including a call to action before the actual link can actually improve click-through rates, according to split test studies. So, a simple line like – Click here to grab it now or Get it now while stocks last can significantly improve click-through rates.

    Multiple links throughout your email. This works wonders as split test studies have shown that if you sprinkle the same link throughout your email, there are more chances of them actually clicking your link and going to your website. Just don’t overdo it.

    Create a sense of urgency. I love this – Mention in your email that only 10 copies are left or that the launch will only go for 24 hours. This often works wonders and boosts clickthrough rates through the roof.

    Thus, you see the practice of one-page-long sales letters being used widely today by businesses of various sizes to sell and push their products and/or services into the Internet marketplace.

    This is the case because sales letters in this fashion have been proven to be all time-tested. As you probably know by now, sales letters are really just one LONG page with one person in mind: to help sell the product to the prospect.

    It’s like an electronic salesperson on your behalf, and it certainly beats having you to prospect and sell to someone else face-to-face or gamble on sending out hard copy mails (that can span 5-20 pages long when printed) and face the chance of not covering your investment on printing back.

    A sales letter is considered to produce a good decent conversion rate at 2 to 4 per cent. You are doing better if your sales letter produces above 4 per cent. Some marketers reportedly produce 6% and some as high as 20-30% to cold prospects!

    Believe it or not, online sales letter consists of mainly the use of mostly words and then some images. And words are indeed powerful tools; you should consider them double-edged swords.

    If used correctly, words can sell literally. If used improperly, not only would your sales letter suffer in conversion rate, it might just deliver the wrong message and the worst-case scenario can be that of offending your prospects (besides not closing the sale).

    I have a sneaky suspicion that your sales letters are currently not producing the kind of conversion rates you want. Or this is your first try at developing a life long asset or skill where marketing online is concerned.

    Perhaps you want to seek all ways possible to offer your sales copies a boost without having to spend a fortune on expensive copywriters in the process because you don’t have the deep pockets for it at the moment.

    3: Ensure a Secure Address



    People want to see that HTTPS in the URL. If you don’t have one, then make sure that you discuss this with your hosting provider.

    6: Remove Distracting Navigation Elements



    Consider removing your menus for your sales page, otherwise, it’s too easy for people to leave without buying! “Buy Now!” should be the one beckoning button!



    7: Offer a Discount



    This is a simple way to make more sales, but it’s an important consideration. Offering a special deal for a certain period of time is perfect for generating more sales, but you’ll need to experiment with different price points to find that sweet spot!



    8: Offer Money Back



    This is important to gain the trust of your audience. Keep in mind that very few people will actually take you up on the guarantee, but having it there will convince them to make the sale.



    9: “Persuasion”



    Think about everything that happens prior to your audience landing on your sales page or eCommerce store. How have you primed them to buy? Are they in the right mindset?

    Your sales process begins with the first interaction with your brand: be that on your homepage or through social media.
