    Happy Friday R&C gang! In today's episode, I chat with Lisa Cox, who is an author, presenter, and disability advocate who empowers other women to live an authentically fearless life. 
    In our conversation, Lisa shares how her life changed when she had a brain haemorrhage at age 24. As a result, she lost one of her legs, her toes, her fingertips and some of her sight. Lisa tells us how she had to hit the restart button on so many areas of her life (from learning to brush her teeth to how to write again), and shares how she found her ‘fearless’. She also mentions the importance of starting out small, which is SO important as we often get caught up fixating on a big shiny goal at the finish line.

Ayeesha is a proud Maori Grenadian woman, co-founder of her creative arts company Black Birds & has worked professionally as an actor for over 7 years!
    In our chat, Ayeesha shares how the capabilities as women of colour are often denied access to certain spaces to thrive in the same spheres as white people. Ayeesha responded to this lack of representation and gave other women of colour the opportunity to take control over their narratives by starting her own company, Black Birds. Throughout this ep, Ayeesha speaks about her passion for the arts industry and breaks down topics of tokenism, cultural appropriation and how we can all play a part in ensuring that Black Lives Matter isn’t just a hashtag trending on social media. 
    I’m forever grateful for Ayeesha’s time and energy in breaking down these topics that have always been there, but have risen to the surface lately. Next steps?     Do you remember this toxic quote that circulated social media a few years ago? It went something like this… “You don’t know how good your body can feel”. The inference was that the harder you worked and, and the ‘healthier’ you ate, the better your body would feel. 
    In today's ep, I share how restrictive eating and over exercising used to consume me. It took YEARS of this lifestyle until I discovered that my body works best when I work with it, not against it, and that rest is sometimes one of the most powerful things you can do for it.
    If you’re feeling at war with yourself, struggle to listen to your body, or even feel guilty for resting, then this one’s for you!

This is literally the most inspiring and motivating podcast ever 🙌🏻 it has given me the tools and confidence to change my job which I was soooo nervous about previously and put it on hold for so long but after listening to all of Georgies tips I finally felt the confidence to put myself first and make the changes I needed in life.
