I absolutely love Ghoulish Tendencies. I was never a true crime fan because most people who make podcasts seem to profit off the pain of the victims and put the one who hurt them on a pedestal. GT seems to be one of the most ethical true crime podcasts I have ever found. They do really thorough research, even into the victims and give us into insights of who they were as a person, like their personalities and their hobbies. They also look past the incorrect “facts” that are often repeated over and over, and correct them when they find it.
As for the paranormal aspect, they go through and research fact from fiction. They look into what happened and what could have caused the haunting, the histories of the haunted tales, and if there is any validity of the haunting claims. If the hauntings are paired with a true crime case, they go into the crime first then onto the hauntings. A lot of their issues with the paranormal community align with mine (anti zak bagans for one) and it makes me really interested in the episodes that do involve the paranormal and often open my eyes to common haunted scams.
The creepy critics corner is another little tidbit i love. They’ve mentioned a couple shows that I am happy that other people have seen and I love hearing about new things for me to watch, especially when it comes to Kim’s 100 days of Horror. I love horror movies, so adding to my list is an amazing feat.
Ghoulish Tendencies is a perfect podcast if you love ghosts and the paranormal, as well as true crime that doesn’t revolve around the killer and helps give voice to the victims, giving them the moment they all deserve. It’s easy to listen to while you’re working or driving home. I couldn’t recommend a better podcast.
