When Eavesdropping is Okay

My favorite part of each week is grabbing each new episode that Laura and Karina have authored. I particularly enjoy their insights as practicing educators. They consistently make their thinking visible with sharing of specific ideas they are ruminating upon. Each show is a vibrant think-aloud that suspiciously feels like eavesdropping on someone’s thinking.
The guest list has been amazing for 23-24 season (Barbara Arrowsmith-Young, Brendan Scribner, Tj Jemison, Tammy McMorrow, Ann Elise Record, Julie Dixon, Kimberly May, Amy Chang, Vanessa Vakharia, Mandy Jansen and Peter Liljedahl.
Each week while I listen, I find key elements of math education practice that I can think about more in my classroom. In many ways, this is like a PLC that has all I need to keep pressing deeper for a greater impact upon my students learning. I will keep eavesdropping - and someday - perhaps, have time to high five, or give a hut to these two math thinkers. We will grab a board, and do some math - or even share an Uber ride!

Teach Math Like a Pirate

These two have lots of treasures to share. I appreciate these pirates navigating the ocean of math education literature. They share nuggets of instructional practices and resources. Their ideas are always easy to implement and student centered. I have truly enjoyed listening to this podcast on my commute to and from school.
