Family Feuds: Seeing God In Injustice – Part 1 of 4

Family Feuds: Seeing God In Injustice – Part 1 of 4

Conflict becomes a way of life—unless the cycle is broken. After Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, he had every right to give in to bitterness. But in this message, Pastor Lutzer observes three deaths Joseph died: to his family, to his reputation, and to his friends. Joseph had to forgive against all odds.

Brothers At War – Part 3 of 3

Brothers At War – Part 3 of 3

Jacob was a cheater, liar, and deceiver. And yet the difference for Jacob was that he did come face-to-face with God. In this message from Genesis 33, Pastor Lutzer notices two vital takeaways about relational reconciliation. Only after Jacob encountered God was he ready to face his estranged brother.

Brothers At War – Part 2 of 3

Brothers At War – Part 2 of 3

God often humbles us to reconcile us to Himself—and to others. Jacob arrived at his encounter with Esau in humility and great need. In this message, Pastor Lutzer outlines the steps we must take, like Jacob did, in a process of reconciliation. Are we willing to do whatever God expects of us to restore fellowship?

Brothers At War – Part 1 of 3

Inheritance issues can divide families permanently. Jacob, the younger brother, connived for the birthright of Esau, the older. In this message from Genesis, Pastor Lutzer tells of two incidents which caused division for these brothers for over twenty years. Where was God in the ultimate family dispute?

In this message, Pastor Lutzer shares two insights on how to be free from sin and bitterness to restore unity. Let’s grow in sensitivity toward God and toward others.

The Challenge Of Raising Cain – Part 2 of 3

The Challenge Of Raising Cain – Part 2 of 3

We are often defensive when someone approaches us with advice. Cain allowed his anger and jealousy to override the counsel given to him, personally, by God—and killed his brother Abel. In this message from Genesis 4, Pastor Lutzer reveals three underlying motivations for “destroyers” like Cain. Are we willing to let God be our counselor?

bad timing

At a time when this country is on the brink of being destroyed by those who seek to over-turn our democracy, it was poor timing to criticize President Trump for his lack of spiritual maturity that some folks who had Godly parents enjoy. A much wiser approach would have been to enjoin God’s people to lift him up and pray that God would bring Godly counselors into President Trump’s life so he could lead this nation at a time we are desperate for someone with the backbone to stand up!

Whitnessing for Christmas part 3

I’ve been listening to running to win on radio and podcasts for a long time. I’m glad the programs still air on radio and fear the day will soon arrive when politicians outlaw ministry on the airwaves either because of the Charlatans who claim to be for Christ but are just taking advantage of people or - because they hate Christianity.

Clearly, Erwin Lutzer is a wonderful preacher. I’ve never been disappointed and always learn something with every broadcast.

In light of the times we live in - there aren’t many good choices in politics. Republican or Democrat - all fall short of ideals we used to love by.

I disagree with the criticism of President Trump in this episode. He is our president and deserves our support in the execution of his duties in spite of his party affiliation, beliefs, ego or other human attributes we use to divide and classify our world.

The world is crowded with people and politics has been used as a tool to divide us.
Politics has no place in Christianity or any other faith. The mixture of politics and faith divides people and, sadly, history proves this leads to wars.

Erwin Lutzer seems like a great guy. He unpacks the Bible and scripture in a captivating manner. One mistake won’t change my opinion. However - it is best to focus on souls and scripture and leave politics out of scripture.
