Barry discovered this album while looking for music to use in a family video and discovering the song Tokyo Aquarium. You can check out the video Tokyo Aquarium on our YouTube channel.  Abigail compared the opening of Look of Sky to the opening of Iris by The Goo Goo Dolls. Barry played a bit of Blackbird by The Beatles for the comparison of the bird sounds and guitar (we have officially gone zero episodes without mentioning the White Album!). Barry compared Didn’t Wanna Have to Do It to Twin Peaks Theme - Instrumental by Angelo Badalamenti. Lyrically, he compared the song to See You In September by The Happenings. After a failed Hawaiian music scouting mission involving a fabulous live performance  - but no CDs to take home! - by John Mahi, Barry purchased this album at Aloha Got Soul, a Honolulu-based record label championing new music and rare reissues from Hawaii! While there, he also purchased Lead Me to the Garden by ʻĀina, From These Shores (various artists), Lemuria by Lemuria, and BLUE by Dae Hon. We previously reviewed Maui Brewing Co. in Kihei, Hawaii, in our episode Hi (Peter Gabriel & Maui Brewing Co.). Abigail and Barry both relied heavily on Huapala Hawaiian Music and Hula Archives for background research and lyrics on this album!
