"To 'hold space' is a terminology used a lot in mental health. You're creating a space where somebody can really, wholly express themselves. In session I'm trying to be as present as I possibly can, to understand their experience. Going to see a therapist is exactly the same as going to your doctor for a physical health problem, it's just with regards to our mental and our emotional well being."
