European Deposit Insurance Corporations and the Lack of Adequate Tier 1 Capital Reserve Ratios

Kevin's Politics Blog

Episode Highlights issues within the European Single Resolution Fund, which is Managed by the Single Resolution Board. Namely, these issues point to a lack of adequate Tier 1 Capital Reserve Ratios for European Deposit Insurance Corporations, and that these ratios, if left unchecked, could lead to a run on European Banks, in the event of a crisis. The Podcast then goes on to explicate why the lack of adequate Reserve Ratios is at its current level of 1%, and what can be done to raise them, and make sure that similar crisis which we saw in 2008 don't transpire.
