Community Memorial Healthcare (CMH) will host five town hall meetings leading up to this year’s November election, which will include a ballot question for a renewed half-cent countywide sales tax to benefit the hospital.
The proposed sales tax has already been in effect in Marshall County for the last four years, after a ballot question was passed on the November 2019 election.
The collection period for the current half-cent sales tax began April 1, 2020. Since going into effect, CMH has been able to collect about $1.2 million annually in local sales tax revenue to put towards general operations, per the language on the ballot question.
