Exploring the Possibilities of Ekphrastic Poetry

Ekphrastic poetry includes vivid imagery about a work of art created by another artist. You may have read ekphrastic poems inspired by paintings or sculptures, but they can also be about music, dance, and other forms of art. I explain some reasons why ekphrastic poetry can be so appealing to readers and writers, and how these poems can get our creative juices flowing. ********************* Email me: marisadellefarfalle@gmail.com Twitter: twitter.com/marisadee13 Instagram: www.instagram.com/marisadf13 Buy Me a Coffee: www.buymeacoffee.com/marisadf13 I'd really appreciate it if you could rate and review this podcast on Apple Podcasts, as it'll help a lot more people find out about this show! Talking with...WB Welch!

I recently had a great discussion with writer WB Welch about novellas, horror writing, poetry, and how writers can fit writing into a busy schedule and effectively use social media. ***** About WB Welch: While she's spent most of her professional career in marketing and customer communications, WB has had many hobbies over the years, including photography and natural skin care and holistic remedies. She studied and became certified in personal training and corrective exercise, and she’s always been an adrenaline junkie. She’s been bungee jumping, skydiving, owned a Yamaha R1 for a time (before it was so woefully stollen), and she was getting pretty decent at staying on top of a skateboard before chronic illness slowed her down a little. She’s currently working as an email developer while writing in her free time. She often focuses on the darker side of human emotions, striving to write honest fiction with texture. Publishing credits include Blood Drops, The Last Letter, and Wet Water, as well as “Baby Muncher” in the 16th edition of Thrice Fiction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Methodist University.
